Recipe: Crochet Snowman Family Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Yarn in white, gray, red, orange, and green
• Crochet hook (4mm or size suitable for your yarn)
• Polyfill stuffing
• Black buttons (or black yarn for embroidery)
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Instructions:

Parent Snowman Body:

1. Base:
   • Round 1: Magic ring, 6 SC into the ring.
   • Round 2: Increase in each stitch (12 stitches).
   • Round 3: SC in next stitch, increase around (18 stitches).
   • Continue increasing until you reach 60 stitches.
   • Work even for 12 rounds.
2. Top Half:
   • Start decreasing: SC in next 8 stitches, decrease around.
   • Continue decreasing until the opening closes. Stuff as you go.

Child Snowman Body:

• Follow the same instructions but stop increasing at 48 stitches and adjust height proportionally.

Hats and Scarves:

1. Hat:
   • Begin with gray yarn. Work in rounds, increasing until the hat fits snugly on the snowman’s head.
   • Add decorative trim or pom-poms.
2. Scarf:
   • Chain 60, SC in each stitch across. Adjust the length as desired. Add fringe for extra detail.

Arms and Details:

1. Use brown yarn to create branch-like arms. Chain 12, SC back along the chain, and add small “branches” using short chains.
2. Embroider the snowman’s face with black yarn for eyes and a smile. Use orange yarn for a carrot-shaped nose.
3. Sew buttons onto the body.

Assembly:

1. Attach the arms to the sides of the snowmen.
2. Position and secure the hats and scarves.
3. Arrange the snowmen together for a family display.
