Recipe: Crochet Snowman Wall Hanging Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Yarn in white, red, black, green, orange, and gray
• Crochet hook (4mm or size suitable for your yarn)
• Polyfill stuffing (for snowmen)
• Buttons for decoration
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Wooden dowel for hanging

Instructions:

Base Panel:

1. Foundation Row: Using gray yarn, chain 60 (or desired width).
2. Rows 1-50: Work in double crochet (DC) across, chaining 2 at the end of each row. Adjust the number of rows for your desired height.
3. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Snowmen (Make 2):

1. Body (Larger Snowman):
   • Round 1: Magic ring, 6 single crochets (SC) into the ring.
   • Round 2: Increase in each stitch (12 stitches).
   • Round 3: SC in next stitch, increase around (18 stitches).
   • Continue increasing until you reach 48 stitches.
   • Work even for 6 rounds.
   • Start decreasing: SC in next 6 stitches, decrease around until closed. Stuff as you go.
2. Head (Smaller Snowman):
   • Follow the same steps but stop at 36 stitches.

Hats and Scarves:

1. Use red and white yarn for the hat and scarf.
2. For the hat, work in rounds, increasing to fit the snowman’s head. Add pom-poms if desired.
3. For the scarf, chain 50 and SC across. Add fringe to the ends.

Snowflakes and Decorations:

1. Use white yarn to crochet small and large snowflakes. There are many free patterns available for intricate snowflakes.
2. Attach small holly leaves and berries made with green and red yarn.

Assembly:

1. Position the snowmen on the gray base panel and sew them in place.
2. Add the hats, scarves, and buttons to the snowmen.
3. Sew the snowflakes and other decorations around the snowmen.
4. Attach the wooden dowel at the top and create loops with yarn for hanging.
