Thanksgiving Turkey Amigurumi with Chicks Crochet Pattern

Materials:

• DK or worsted weight yarn in beige, brown, orange, red, yellow, blue, and white
• Fuzzy yarn for the chicks
• 2.5 mm or 3.0 mm crochet hook
• 6 mm black safety eyes
• Fiberfill stuffing
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Abbreviations:

• MR: Magic Ring
• SC: Single Crochet
• INC: Increase (2 SC in one stitch)
• DEC: Decrease (sc2tog)
• SL ST: Slip Stitch
• CH: Chain

Turkey Body:

1. Round 1: With beige yarn, MR, 6 SC into the ring. (6)
2. Round 2: INC in each stitch around. (12)
3. Round 3: SC, INC repeat around. (18)
4. Round 4: 2 SC, INC repeat around. (24)
5. Rounds 5-12: SC around. (24)
6. Round 13: 2 SC, DEC repeat around. (18)
7. Round 14: SC, DEC repeat around. (12)
8. Round 15: DEC around. (6) Fasten off and weave in ends.

Tail Feathers:

1. Row 1: With brown yarn, CH 6, SC in second CH from hook and across. (5)
2. Row 2: CH 1, turn, INC, SC across, INC in last stitch. (7)
3. Row 3: CH 1, turn, SC across. (7)
4. Change to colorful yarns, repeating rows for each feather color, alternating yellow, orange, red, and blue as shown.
5. Make 5 feathers and sew onto the back of the turkey.

Beak and Wattle:

1. Beak: With yellow yarn, MR, 4 SC into ring. (4) Fasten off, leave a tail, and attach to face.
2. Wattle: With red yarn, CH 4, SL ST in second CH from hook and across. Fasten off, leaving a tail, and attach below the beak.

Chicks (Make 3):

1. Round 1: With fuzzy yarn, MR, 6 SC into the ring. (6)
2. Round 2: INC in each stitch around. (12)
3. Rounds 3-4: SC around. (12) Fasten off, attach safety eyes, and embroider small orange beaks.

Assembly:

1. Attach the tail feathers to the back of the turkey body.
2. Sew the beak and wattle onto the face.
3. Attach the chicks around the turkey, either gluing or sewing them in place for stability.
