Santa Claus Crochet Baby Booties Pattern

Materials:

• Yarn:
  • Red (main booties)
  • White fluffy yarn (fur trim and beard)
  • Beige or cream (face)
  • Green (hat holly leaves)
  • Black (eyes)
• Hook: 4 mm crochet hook
• Extras: Small amounts of stuffing, sewing needle, scissors

Abbreviations:

• MR: Magic ring
• ch: Chain
• sc: Single crochet
• hdc: Half double crochet
• dc: Double crochet
• sl st: Slip stitch
• inc: Increase (2 stitches in 1 stitch)
• dec: Decrease

Instructions

Sole of Booties (Make 2 in Red):

1. Round 1: Ch 11, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 8 ch, 5 sc in last ch. Turn and work along other side of chain: sc 8, 2 sc in last. (24)
2. Round 2: Inc in first stitch, sc 8, inc in next 5 stitches, sc 8, inc in last 2 stitches. (32)
3. Round 3: Sc in each stitch around, working 2 sc in the corners. Fasten off.

Body of Booties:

1. Join red yarn to the sole edge and work 2 rounds of sc in the back loops only.
2. For the next 6 rounds, sc in each stitch around. Fasten off.

Fur Trim (White Fluffy Yarn):

1. Attach yarn to the top edge of the bootie. Work 2 rounds of sc around. The fluffy yarn will give the booties their “Santa trim” effect.

Santa’s Face (Cream/Beige Yarn):

1. Round 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)
2. Round 2: Inc in each stitch. (12)
3. Round 3: 1 sc, inc around. (18)
4. Fasten off and sew the face onto the front of each bootie.

Beard (White Yarn):

1. Cut small strands of white yarn and attach to the bottom of the face to create a fringe. Trim to your desired length.

Santa Hat (Red Yarn):

1. Row 1: Ch 2, 2 sc in first stitch.
2. Row 2-6: Inc 1 stitch per row to form a triangle. Fasten off.
3. Attach green yarn to crochet holly leaves and a red yarn pom-pom to the hat’s tip. Sew the hat above Santa’s face.

Assembly:

1. Sew the beard, hat, and face onto the front of each bootie.
2. Add black yarn for eyes or small black beads.
