Rainbow Feather Macramé Keychain: A Colorful and Trendy DIY Craft

Materials:

• Macramé cord in various colors (approximately 2 mm thickness)
• Keyring with a lobster clasp
• Scissors
• Fabric glue or a lighter (for securing ends)

Pattern:

Step 1: Prepare the Cords

1. Choose seven different colors of macramé cord to create the rainbow effect.
2. Cut one central cord (the spine) approximately 12 inches long in the color of your choice.
3. For the feather strands, cut 10 pieces of each color, each approximately 6 inches long.

Step 2: Start the Macramé Knots

1. Fold the central cord in half and attach it to the keyring using a lark’s head knot.
2. Take two strands of the same color, fold them in half, and place one under the central cord (spine) and the other over it, creating a square knot. Pull tight to secure.

Step 3: Add Colors in Layers

1. Continue adding square knots with different colored strands, working your way down the spine. Make sure to tighten each knot as you go.
2. Once you’ve added all the colors, trim the ends to shape the feather. Start with the bottom layer, then trim each layer above it slightly shorter to create a feather-like appearance.

Step 4: Finish the Keychain

1. Secure the knots by either applying a small amount of fabric glue to the back of the knots or gently melting the ends with a lighter.
