Halloween Pumpkin and Ghost Crochet Dress Pattern

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn in orange, black, white, green, and yellow
• Crochet hook sizes 3.5mm and 4.00mm
• Stitch markers
• Yarn needle
• Scissors
• Buttons for closure (optional)

Abbreviations:

• CH: Chain
• SC: Single Crochet
• DC: Double Crochet
• SL ST: Slip Stitch
• INC: Increase (2 SC in the same stitch)
• DEC: Decrease (SC 2 stitches together)
• MR: Magic Ring

Bodice (Orange):

1. Start with the neckline: CH 64 (or as wide as needed for child’s head).
2. Row 1: SC across, join to form a circle. (64)
3. Rows 2-8: DC in each stitch around.
4. Row 9: Increase (DC 2 in one stitch) every 8th stitch to create room for the arms. (72)
5. Rows 10-12: Continue DC without increases.

Sleeves (Orange and Black):

1. Attach yarn to armhole.
2. Row 1: DC around the armhole to form the sleeve.
3. Rows 2-5: Alternate orange and black for a stripe effect, continuing DC in rounds. Fasten off.

Skirt (Black):

1. Attach black yarn to the bottom of the bodice.
2. Row 1: SC around the base of the bodice.
3. Rows 2-20: Increase in every 6th stitch to create a flared effect. SC or DC as desired.

Pumpkin Appliqués (Orange and Green):

1. With orange yarn, MR, 6 SC into the ring.
2. Round 2: INC in each stitch. (12)
3. Round 3: (1 SC, INC) around. (18)
4. Round 4: SC around.
5. Stem (with green yarn): CH 6, SC in second CH from hook and down. Attach stem and embroider faces on pumpkins with black yarn.

Ghost Appliqués (White):

1. With white yarn, MR, 6 SC into the ring.
2. Round 2: INC in each stitch. (12)
3. Round 3: SC around.
4. Create two arms by chaining and stitching separately. Embroider a simple ghost face with black yarn.

Finishing:

• Attach pumpkins and ghosts to the bottom of the skirt, evenly spaced.
• Add a bat appliqué on the bodice using black yarn.
• Secure all appliqués with fabric glue or sew them onto the dress.
• Add buttons on the back for closure if needed.
