Recipe: Crochet Witch Doll Pattern

Materials:

• Yarn in skin tone, black, grey, brown, pink, green, and white (worsted weight)
• 2.5 mm crochet hook
• Fiberfill stuffing
• 8 mm safety eyes
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Lace or ribbon for detailing
• Small book or felt for the spellbook

Instructions:

1. Head:
   • Start with skin tone yarn and make a magic ring.
   • Round 1: 6 SC into the magic ring.
   • Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around (12 SC).
   • Round 3: 1 SC, 2 SC in next stitch around (18 SC).
   • Round 4: 2 SC, 2 SC in next stitch around (24 SC).
   • Rounds 5-10: SC around (24 SC).
   • Insert safety eyes between rounds 6 and 7, and embroider the mouth.
   • Round 11: 2 SC, SC2tog around (18 SC).
   • Round 12: 1 SC, SC2tog around (12 SC).
   • Stuff the head, continue decreasing until closed, and fasten off.
2. Body:
   • Start with the pink yarn for the dress.
   • Round 1: 6 SC into a magic ring.
   • Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around (12 SC).
   • Round 3: 1 SC, 2 SC in next stitch around (18 SC).
   • Rounds 4-9: SC around.
   • Change to skin tone yarn for the neck, SC around for 3 more rounds.
   • Stuff the body as you work.
   • Switch to black yarn for the boots, SC around for 4 rounds. Fasten off and sew to the bottom of the dress.
3. Arms (Make 2):
   • Start with skin tone yarn, create a magic ring.
   • Round 1: 6 SC into the ring.
   • Rounds 2-5: SC around (6 SC).
   • Switch to pink yarn for the sleeves, continue SC for 4 more rounds.
   • Fasten off, stuff lightly, and sew onto the body.
4. Hat:
   • Using black yarn, make a magic ring.
   • Round 1: 6 SC into the magic ring.
   • Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around (12 SC).
   • Round 3: 1 SC, 2 SC in next stitch around (18 SC).
   • Continue increasing evenly until you reach 42 SC around.
   • Shape the brim by working in FLO (front loop only) for 2 rounds.
   • Crochet a band around the hat with grey yarn, and add small floral details with green and brown yarn to decorate.
5. Mushrooms (Make 2-3):
   • Start with white yarn for the stem, SC in the round for 6-8 rows.
   • For the mushroom cap, use orange yarn, SC in the round, increasing evenly to form a dome shape.
   • Add white spots with yarn or felt.
   • Sew the stem to the cap and attach to the doll’s scene if desired.
6. Assembly:
   • Sew the head onto the body.
   • Attach the arms.
   • Position the hat on the doll’s head.
   • Make a small felt book for the spellbook, or crochet a simple rectangular shape and sew it onto her hands.
