Recipe: Crochet Santa Kitty Amigurumi Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Worsted weight yarn in beige, red, white, and black
• Crochet hook (size appropriate for your yarn)
• Fiberfill stuffing
• Safety eyes (10-12 mm)
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Blush or fabric paint for cheeks (optional)

Instructions:

Body & Head:

1. Body:
   • Round 1: Begin with a magic ring, work 6 single crochets (SC) into the ring.
   • Round 2: Increase in each stitch around (12 stitches).
   • Round 3: SC in the next stitch, increase around (18 stitches).
   • Round 4-9: SC in each stitch around (18 stitches).
   • Round 10: SC in the next stitch, decrease around (12 stitches). Stuff the body as you go.
   • Round 11: Decrease around (6 stitches). Fasten off and weave in the ends.
2. Head:
   • Follow the same process as the body but increase rounds to create a slightly larger shape. Add safety eyes between Rounds 7 and 8.
   • Embroider the nose with brown yarn and whiskers with black thread.

Ears (Make 2):

• Round 1: Magic ring, 4 SC into the ring.
• Round 2: SC in the next stitch, increase (6 stitches).
• Round 3: SC around. Fasten off and sew to the head.

Santa Hat:

• Round 1: With red yarn, magic ring, work 6 SC into the ring.
• Round 2: SC around.
• Round 3: SC, increase around. Continue increasing every few rounds until the hat fits over the kitty’s head.
• Add a white trim (SC in each stitch around) and attach a white pom-pom to the tip.

Arms & Legs (Make 4):

• Round 1: Magic ring, 6 SC into the ring.
• Round 2-4: SC in each stitch. Fasten off and sew to the body.

Scarf:

• Chain 40 with red yarn. SC in each chain, fasten off. Tie around the kitty’s neck.

Assembly:

• Sew the head to the body.
• Attach arms and legs.
• Place the Santa hat on the head, securing it with stitches if necessary.
