Crochet Pikachu Keychain Tutorial

Materials:

• Yellow, black, and red worsted weight yarn
• Crochet hook size 2.5 mm
• Fiberfill stuffing
• 2 black safety eyes (6 mm)
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Stitch marker
• Keychain ring

Abbreviations:

• MR: magic ring
• sc: single crochet
• inc: increase (2 sc in the same stitch)
• dec: decrease (single crochet two stitches together)
• sl st: slip stitch

Body

1. Start with yellow yarn:
   • Round 1: MR, 6 sc in the ring (6)
   • Round 2: Inc in each stitch (12)
   • Round 3: 1 sc, inc around (18)
   • Round 4-8: Sc around (18)
   • Round 9: 1 sc, dec around (12)
   • Stuff with fiberfill.
   • Round 10: Dec around (6), fasten off and weave in ends.

Head

1. Using yellow yarn:
   • Round 1: MR, 6 sc in the ring (6)
   • Round 2: Inc in each stitch (12)
   • Round 3: 1 sc, inc around (18)
   • Round 4-6: Sc around (18)
   • Round 7: 1 sc, dec around (12)
   • Insert safety eyes between rounds 4 and 5.
   • Stuff the head with fiberfill.
   • Round 8: Dec around (6), fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Ears (Make 2)

1. Start with black yarn:
   • Round 1: MR, 6 sc in the ring (6)
   • Round 2-3: Sc around (6)
   • Change to yellow yarn.
   • Round 4-5: Sc around (6), fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Arms (Make 2)

1. Using yellow yarn:

Feet (Make 2)

   • Round 1: MR, 6 sc in the ring (6)

Cheeks (Make 2)

1. Using red yarn:
   • Round 1: MR, 6 sc in the ring (6), fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

Tail

1. Using yellow yarn:
   • Ch 9, sc in the 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in the next 7 ch (8)
   • Ch 1, turn, sc across, fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Assembly

1. Sew the head to the body.
2. Attach the ears, arms, and feet to the body.
3. Sew the red cheeks below the eyes.
4. Attach the tail to Pikachu’s back.
5. Using black yarn, embroider Pikachu’s mouth and nose.
6. Attach the keychain ring to the top of Pikachu’s head.
