Recipe: Christmas Crochet Reindeer with Santa Hat

Materials:

• Beige, brown, red, and white yarn (for body, antlers, scarf, and hat)
• 2.5 mm or 3.0 mm crochet hook
• Fiberfill stuffing
• 6mm or 8mm safety eyes
• Yarn needle
• Stitch markers

Instructions:

1. Head and Body:
   • Head:
     • Start with beige yarn and make a magic ring.
     • Round 1: 6 SC into the ring.
     • Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around (12 SC).
     • Round 3: [SC in next stitch, 2 SC in next] repeat around (18 SC).
     • Continue increasing until you reach 36 SC.

2. Antlers (make 2):
   • With brown yarn, make a magic ring.
   • Round 1: 6 SC into the ring.
   • Round 2-8: SC around without increasing.
   • Shape the antlers by making small branches using chains and SCs. Sew onto the head.
3. Ears (make 2):
   • With beige yarn, chain 5.
   • SC in each chain back, increasing slightly at the base.
   • Fold and sew to the sides of the head.
4. Legs and Arms (make 4):
   • Start with brown yarn for the hooves.
   • Round 1: 6 SC into a magic ring.
   • Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch (12 SC).
   • Change to beige yarn after a few rounds.
   • Work even rounds for the legs/arms, stuff, and attach to the body.
5. Santa Hat:

   • Continue increasing until you form a cone shape.
   • Add a white trim with single crochets around the base and attach a pom-pom to the tip.
6. Scarf:
   • With red yarn, chain the desired length of the scarf.
   • Work in rows of SCs until you achieve the width you like.
   • Wrap the scarf around the reindeer’s neck and secure it with a knot or sew it in place.
7. Final Assembly:
   • Attach all parts securely to the body.
   • Embroider a small nose and mouth using black yarn.
   • Add finishing touches like blush details on the cheeks or extra winter accessories as desired.
