Cherry Crochet Bag: A Stylish and Sweet DIY Project

Recipe:

Materials:

• Yarn: 200g of cream-colored cotton yarn
• Red and green yarn for the cherries and leaves
• Crochet hook: Size 4.0 mm (G-6)
• Leather handles
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Stitch markers (optional)

Pattern:

Bag Base:

1. Foundation: Ch 45.
2. Round 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across (44 sc). Work 3 sc in last ch, rotate the piece to work on the opposite side of the foundation ch. Sc in each ch across. Work 3 sc in the last ch. (92 sc total)
3. Round 2-8: Sc in each st around, placing 2 sc in the first and last stitch of each round.
4. Round 9-30: Continue to sc in each st around without increases.

Cherry Appliqué:

1. Cherry (Make 2): With red yarn, start with a magic ring.
   • Round 1: 6 sc into the ring. Pull tight to close. (6 sc)
   • Round 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12 sc)
   • Round 3-4: Sc in each st around.
   • Round 5: Sc2tog around. (6 sc)
   • Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
2. Leaf (Make 1): With green yarn,
   • Ch 8, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next, dc in next 4, 3 dc in last ch. Now working on the opposite side of the ch: dc in next 4, hdc in next, sc in last. Fasten off, leaving a long tail.

Assembling the Bag:

1. Attach the cherries to the front of the bag using the tapestry needle and the long tails.
2. Sew the leaf above the cherries.
3. Attach the leather handles securely.

Finishing:

1. Weave in all loose ends using the tapestry needle.
2. Optional: Add a fabric lining for extra durability.
