Capibaras Crochet Pattern

Materials:

• Yarn: Brown for the body, black for details, and optional beige for accents.
• Hook: 3.5 mm crochet hook
• Safety eyes: 8 mm (1 pair)
• Polyfill stuffing
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Abbreviations:

• MR: Magic ring
• sc: Single crochet
• inc: Increase (2 sc in the same stitch)
• dec: Decrease (sc two stitches together)
• ch: Chain
• sl st: Slip stitch

Body:

1. Round 1: MR, 6 sc into the ring. (6)
2. Round 2: Inc in each stitch around. (12)
3. Round 3: [1 sc, inc] repeat around. (18)
4. Round 4: [2 sc, inc] repeat around. (24)
5. Rounds 5-10: Sc around. (24)
6. Round 11: [2 sc, dec] repeat around. (18)
7. Round 12: [1 sc, dec] repeat around. (12)
   • Stuff the body with polyfill before closing.
8. Round 13: Dec around. (6)
   • Fasten off and sew the opening closed.

Head:

1. Round 1: MR, 6 sc into the ring. (6)
2. Round 2: Inc in each stitch around. (12)
3. Round 3: [1 sc, inc] repeat around. (18)
4. Round 4: [2 sc, inc] repeat around. (24)
5. Rounds 5-8: Sc around. (24)
6. Round 9: [2 sc, dec] repeat around. (18)
7. Round 10: [1 sc, dec] repeat around. (12)
   • Stuff the head before closing.
8. Round 11: Dec around. (6)
   • Fasten off, leaving a tail to attach to the body.

Legs (Make 4):

1. Round 1: MR, 6 sc into the ring. (6)
2. Rounds 2-3: Sc around. (6)
3. Fasten off, leaving a tail to attach the legs to the body.

Ears (Make 2):

1. Round 1: MR, 6 sc into the ring. (6)
2. Round 2: Sc around. (6)
3. Fasten off, leaving a tail to attach the ears to the head.

Tail:

1. Round 1: MR, 6 sc into the ring. (6)
2. Round 2: Sc around. (6)
3. Fasten off and leave a tail to sew the tail to the body.

Assembly:

1. Attach the head to the body using the yarn needle.
2. Sew the legs evenly spaced on the underside of the body.
3. Attach the ears to the top of the head.
4. Sew the tail to the back of the body.
5. Add the safety eyes and embroider a small nose and mouth for the finishing touch.
