Crochet Cherry Cat Keychain Tutorial

Materials:

• Yarn: Red, green, white, pink, and black (cotton yarn is recommended)
• Hook: 2.5 mm crochet hook
• Polyfill stuffing
• Keyring with chain
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Abbreviations:

• MR: Magic ring
• sc: Single crochet
• inc: Increase (2 sc in the same stitch)
• dec: Decrease (sc two stitches together)
• ch: Chain
• sl st: Slip stitch

Cherry (Make 2):

1. Round 1: MR, 6 sc into the ring. (6)
2. Round 2: Inc in each stitch around. (12)
3. Round 3: [1 sc, inc] repeat around. (18)
4. Round 4-6: Sc around. (18)
5. Round 7: [1 sc, dec] repeat around. (12)
6. Round 8: Dec around. (6)
   • Stuff the cherry with polyfill before closing.
   • Fasten off and sew the opening closed.

Cat Face Cherry:

1. Follow the steps above to create a cherry in red.
2. Use white yarn to embroider or crochet an oval shape for the cat’s face.
3. Embroider the cat’s facial features (eyes, nose, whiskers) with black and pink yarn.

Leaves and Stem:

1. Leaf (Make 2):
   • Ch 8.
   • Starting from the second ch from the hook: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 3 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc.
   • Turn and work along the other side of the chain: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 3 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc.
   • Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.
2. Stem (Make 2):
   • Ch 15.
   • Sc in each chain.
   • Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly:

1. Attach the stems to the cherries.
2. Sew the leaves at the top where the stems join.
3. Secure the cherry cat to the keyring chain.
4. Attach the plain cherry for a charming duo.
