Materials:

• Yarn:
  • Red (hat and sleeves)
  • Grey or brown (body)
  • White (beard)
  • Beige or skin tone (nose)
• Hook: 3.0 mm crochet hook
• Stuffing: Polyester fiberfill
• Extras: 3 small buttons, yarn needle, scissors

Abbreviations:

• MR: Magic ring
• ch: Chain
• sc: Single crochet
• inc: Increase (2 stitches in 1 stitch)
• dec: Decrease
• sl st: Slip stitch

Gnome Body (Grey or Brown Yarn):

1. Round 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)
2. Round 2: Inc in each st. (12)
3. Round 3: 1 sc, inc around. (18)
4. Round 4: 2 sc, inc around. (24)
5. Round 5: 3 sc, inc around. (30)
6. Round 6-15: Sc in each st. (30)
7. Round 16: 3 sc, dec around. (24)
8. Round 17: 2 sc, dec around. (18)
9. Round 18: 1 sc, dec around. (12)
10. Stuff firmly and fasten off.

Hat (Red Yarn):

1. Round 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)
2. Round 2: 1 sc, inc around. (9)
3. Round 3: Sc in each st. (9)
4. Round 4: 2 sc, inc around. (12)
5. Continue increasing 3 stitches per round until the circumference matches the gnome’s head.
6. Work 4 rounds of sc.
