Halloween Crochet Cardigan Pattern

Materials:

• Orange, black, and brown worsted weight yarn
• Crochet hook (5.0mm)
• Buttons for closure
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Abbreviations:

• CH: Chain
• SC: Single Crochet
• DC: Double Crochet
• INC: Increase (2 SC in one stitch)
• DEC: Decrease (SC two stitches together)
• SL ST: Slip Stitch

Cardigan Base:

1. Foundation Chain: CH a length to fit chest measurement (for a medium size, CH 120).
2. Row 1: DC in the third CH from hook and across. CH 2, turn.
3. Rows 2-8: Alternate colors as shown in the picture, working DC across each row.
4. Repeat Rows 2-8: Continue alternating colors until the desired length for the body is reached.
5. Hood (Optional): Work in rounds with black and orange yarn to form a hood, decreasing slightly at the top to create shape.

Pumpkin Appliqué:

1. Round 1: With orange yarn, MR, SC 6. (6)
2. Round 2: INC in each stitch. (12)
3. Round 3: (SC 1, INC) around. (18)
4. Round 4: SC around.
5. Attach with a small green stem, and sew onto the cardigan.

Ghost Appliqué:

1. Round 1: With white yarn, MR, SC 6. (6)
2. Round 2: INC in each stitch. (12)
3. Rounds 3-4: SC around.
4. Add eyes and mouth with black yarn, and sew onto the cardigan.

Bat Appliqué:

1. Row 1: With black yarn, CH 10, SC in each CH, then create small wings by increasing and decreasing.
2. Sew onto the cardigan as desired.

Finishing Touches:

• Sew buttons along the front for closure.
• Add any additional appliqués as desired to customize the cardigan.
